At Versiona Studio, every artist project begins with a clear creative reason. We do not create characters simply to fill a catalogue or follow a trend. Each one is designed to explore a specific musical world, tell a different kind of story and give us new ways to connect music, visual identity and narrative. Kendrell Karter was created with that purpose in mind.
Karter is a fictional AI artist developed by Versiona Studio through human creative direction. His identity, music, story, visual style and artistic evolution are shaped by our team. Artificial intelligence is part of the production process, but it does not replace the ideas, decisions or emotional intention behind the project. The concept begins with people: choosing what the artist represents, defining his sound, writing and refining songs, directing the visuals and deciding how every release should feel.
The idea for Karter came from a need to explore a musical space that was not yet represented within Versiona Studio. We wanted to create a younger, darker and more urban project focused on contemporary trap, melodic rap and psychedelic R&B. Rather than producing isolated songs in these genres, we wanted to build a complete artist with a recognisable voice, personality, history and visual universe.
Kendrell Karter is presented as a 23-year-old artist from Atlanta, Georgia. This background is part of the fictional narrative that supports the project and places him close to one of the most influential cities in modern trap music. However, the goal is not to copy the sound of any existing artist or reproduce a familiar stereotype. Karter has been developed to have his own identity: emotionally guarded but vulnerable, ambitious but restless, confident on the surface while carrying unresolved experiences underneath.
His music is built around dark melodic trap, psychedelic R&B, deep 808s, atmospheric production and a low, controlled vocal tone. Some tracks are direct and rhythm-driven, while others move into more melodic, intimate or cinematic territory. We are especially interested in contrast: heavy production against vulnerable lyrics, luxury against instability, confidence against isolation and success against emotional emptiness.
These tensions give the project its character. Karter’s songs can speak about ambition, loyalty, betrayal, relationships, street pressure, desire, survival and the consequences of trying to stay in control. The intention is not to explain every feeling in a literal way. Much of trap communicates through short images, unfinished thoughts, repeated phrases and atmosphere. We want his writing to feel immediate and believable while still creating a larger emotional story across different releases.
Another reason for creating Karter was to challenge ourselves creatively. Working with an AI artist requires consistency. A song, image or video may work individually, but the project only becomes convincing when every part belongs to the same world. The voice must remain recognisable. The visual identity must evolve without losing continuity. The clothing, colours, locations, expressions and camera language must support the music rather than distract from it.
For Karter, that visual world combines luxury streetwear, dark interiors, night-time city environments, cars, water, reflective surfaces and cinematic lighting. Gold, black and deep neutral tones are important to his identity, but we do not want the imagery to become repetitive. Each song needs its own visual concept while still feeling unmistakably connected to the same artist.
The creation of Karter also allows us to experiment with storytelling over time. He is not designed as a static image with a collection of songs behind it. His character can develop through releases, videos, social media content and longer narrative pieces. Listeners will gradually discover more about his background, his contradictions and the experiences that influence his music.
This does not mean pretending that Karter is a real human performer. Transparency matters to us. He is an AI-created fictional artist, guided and produced by real people. The emotions, themes and creative choices behind the project come from human observation, writing and direction. AI gives us tools to create voices, images and scenes that would otherwise require a very different production structure, but the technology is only one part of the process.
Our aim is not to use AI as a shortcut. In many ways, building a coherent virtual artist creates more work because every detail must be consciously designed. We test different musical directions, reject ideas that feel generic, rewrite lyrics, adjust vocal performances and create visual material until it supports the identity we are trying to build. The final result depends on judgement, not only generation.
Karter represents an important expansion for Versiona Studio. He introduces a sound that is distinct from our other projects while remaining connected to our main creative principle: music should have identity, intention and a world around it. His project gives us the freedom to explore current urban genres without abandoning emotional depth or long-term storytelling.
This is only the beginning. The first releases will establish his voice and musical foundations, but the project is designed to grow. Future songs will explore different rhythms, stronger contrasts, unexpected introductions and more ambitious visual narratives. We want each new release to reveal another part of Karter without making him predictable.
Kendrell Karter was created because we saw the possibility of building something more than a collection of AI-generated tracks. We wanted to create an artist project with direction, personality and room to evolve.
Welcome to the next chapter of Versiona Studio.
